Pop-Up Pilot

In our first year of incorporation, we're launching a pilot program to build community partnerships, conduct a community needs assessment, collect utilization data, and demonstrate a clear need for nightlife- and event-based harm reduction services in Greater Boston.

The Pilot

We partner with nightlife venues, event organizers, and community groups throughout Greater Boston to provide volunteer-led pop-up harm reduction stations at events and public gatherings.

The pilot runs from July 2026 through July 2027. Pop-ups begin at events starting in January 2027. We aim to raise $15,000 to support the pilot.

Partnership Opportunities

Creating safer nightlife and community spaces requires collaboration. Venue operators, event organizers, promoters, artists, security teams, and public health professionals all play a role in fostering environments where people can gather, celebrate, and connect safely.

This pilot is designed to work alongside — not replace — existing venue safety practices. Harm reduction services provide an additional layer of support by offering patrons access to practical resources, health information, peer support, and nonjudgmental assistance when they need it most.

Partnering with Life Force lets venues and event organizers demonstrate a proactive commitment to community well-being while helping reduce preventable harms associated with overdose, drink spiking, dehydration, and other nightlife-related risks.

Together, we can build a culture where looking out for one another is part of every event, every venue, and every night out — and where more people get home safe.

Significance & Impact

This pilot evaluates a practical, community-based approach to a real gap in Boston's public health and nightlife safety infrastructure. By embedding trained peer harm reduction workers directly within nightlife and event settings, we'll generate valuable data on service utilization, community needs, partnership development, and the effectiveness of low-barrier interventions.

A successful pilot will demonstrate that harm reduction services can be delivered safely, effectively, and cost-efficiently in nightlife and community settings while complementing existing public health initiatives — and lay a foundation for future expansion and sustainable funding.

Investment in this pilot is an investment in prevention, education, and community resilience.
